Indian cricket team under Ruturaj Gaikwad was scheduled to play their first game of the 19th Asian Game at Hangzhou against Nepal on September 3 at Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field, Hangzhou.

Winning the toss, India decided to bat first where Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rituraj Gaikwad opened the inning and made a 100-run partnership for the 1st wicket. Dipendra Singh broke the partnership by dismissing Jaiswal in the 5th ball of the 10th over.

Before being dismissed, Jaiswal scored a century in just 49 deliveries and became the Youngest Indian to Score a T20I Century. Jaiswal, at 21 years nine months and 13 days, broke the record previously set by Shubman Gill, who scored a hundred against New Zealand at 23 years and 146 days.

With Rinku Singh’s 15 balls 37 runs, India scored 202 runs for 4-wicket loss at the end of 20 overs. On the other hand, Nepal struggled to build a partnership and lost wickets at regular intervals. At the end of 20 overs, Nepal scored 179 runs and lost the game by 23 runs.

Notably, apart from Jaiswal none of the batters from both playing teams have not crossed the 50 runs mark. Rinku Singh‘s 37 runs remain the second-best score of the match.
