“I’ve Had Enough” Gambhir Shouts in India Dressing Room after MCG Defeat

The Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has lost his coolness and shouted in India’s dressing room after the batting collapse at MCG which saw a 184-run defeat against Australia.

India lost seven wickets for scoring just 34 runs in the finals session of day 05 at Melbourne. The visitors were bowled out for 155 in their 340-run chase and the victory gave Australia a solid 2-1 lead and made it tough for India to make it to the WTC finals for the third time in a row.

India was down to three whit Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal batted fully on the second session, making it tough for Australian bowlers.

Australia decided to start bring in spinners Nathan Lyon and Travis Head which proved to be useful. Pant was dismissed a lofted shot from Head’s delivery providing a catch in the deep mid-wicket boundary to Marsh.

After Pant’s dismissal Australia was able to dismantle India’s line up within a hour to register a sensational win.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Pant’s dismissals were too disappointing. Gambhir was seemed to be unhappy with the way some of the batters got out. There have been too much collapses in the test format which led to multiple defeats.

“Shortly after India lost seven wickets in 20.4 overs and handed the Melbourne Test to Australia, head coach Gautam Gambhir had some stern words for the entire squad in the dressing room on Monday. “Bahut ho gaya (I’ve had enough),” the report stated.

Gambhir did not take any names but he indicated clearly saying forget your natural play and play accordingly to the situation.

Gambhir took over the head coach duties from Rahul Dravid after India’s T20 World Cup win. Under his guidance, India has seen some lows with defeat in first ODI series in Sri Lanka and a white wash in a test series against New Zealand at home.

But things seemed to be different during India’s 295-run victory in Perth led by Jasprit Bumrah in Rohit Sharma’s absence. But with the return of Rohit Sharma, the results did not favour India with two defeats and a draw in three test matches.

The final test of the five match series will begin on January 03 at Sydney Cricket Ground.
