USA’s Ali Khan became a sensation right after the USA registered a historic series win against Bangladesh on Thursday. Ali Khan played a crucial role in his team’s victory in the second T20I match which sealed the series victory for the hosts with a match to be played on May 25.
The Bangladesh cricket team were scheduled to tour the USA to play 3 match T20I series before the start of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The series was expected to lay a strong foundation for both teams for their T20 World Cup preparations.
Being a host, the USA was expected to have an upper hand in the 3 match T20I series against Bangladesh. But on the other hand, Bangladesh’s experienced players were expected to give a tough competition for the hosts.
While a huge number of cricket fans engaged in the IPL 2024 playoffs week, the USA cricket team grabbed some of their attention by winning back-to-back T20I matches against Bangladesh.
Ali was awarded the Player of the Match award three wickets in the second inning which paved the way for the USA’s victory in the second T20I match.
During the post-match presentation, Khan said “I think it was a low scoring game, the wicket slowed down in the second innings. Credit goes to the bowlers, kept taking wickets. Put the pressure back on Bangladesh”.
“Was a good 19th over by Netravalkar, that helped me in the last over. My goal was to back myself and try to get the wicket. That four put the pressure back on me, but I got back to my strengths. The tail-enders expect yorkers, so tried to go short”, Ali Khan added.

The third and final match of the Bangladesh tour of USA 2024 will be played on May 25 in Prairie View Cricket Complex, Houston.
