Is Jay Shah Going to Visit Pakistan, Arun Dhamal Reacts

Is Jay Shah Going to Visit Pakistan: The rumours of BCCI Secretary Jay Shah’s visit to Pakistan which got viral on social media, are denied by IPL Chairman official Arun Dhamal.

Is Jay Shah Going to Visit Pakistan

There are many interesting conflicts regarding Asia Cup 2023 schedule and venue within Pakistan. The Hybrid model was already agreed upon by Najam Sethi, the former Pakistan Cricket Board chief, and the Asian Cricket Council, the sports minister of Pakistan.

I have not agreed to anything. This is just plain miscommunication. Probably done deliberately or mischievously. I’ll not be making any visit,” Jay Shah told at Press Conference.

On various reports, India’s decision not to visit the Asia Cup and its impact on the ICC World Cup 2023 created a rumour about Jay Shah’s visit to Pakistan.

“There was no such discussion held. Neither India is traveling to Pakistan and our secretary will be traveling contrary to reports that have surfaced. Only the schedule was finalized,” Arun Dhumal told PTI.

Dumal also confirmed that Jay Shah and Zaka Ashraf had a meeting in Durban where they discussed a number of topics relating to the Asia Cup. He also said that just 4 games of the Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan while 9 will take place in Sri Lanka.

“Our secretary met PCB head Zaka Ashraf and the Asia Cup schedule was finalized and it is on course as it was discussed earlier.

There will be four games of the league stage in Pakistan, followed by nine games in Sri Lanka, including both India versus Pakistan games and in case a third game if both teams play the final.

India and Pakistan are expected to take on each other twice in the Asia Cup. If the two teams qualify for the final, there would be a third encounter which will also be held in Sri Lanka.

In a case, if the Indian team isn’t in the final, the title decider match would likely be held in Pakistan.

    Rashid Latif about the rumour

Rashid Latif used his official Twitter to handle the problem created on the rumours and reveal the truth about their meeting.

“News of mutual invite extended by Jay Shah & Zaka Ashraf struck the headlines yesterday. Jay Shah had accepted coming to Pakistan during the Asia Cup matches & in turn invited, Zaka, consenting to travel to India at the time of the ICC World Cup 2023. High-powered people leaking news only to their favorite journalists is actually not serving their cause but creating confusion. ”

“Now there is a denial of no such acceptance of the invitation by Shah. It’s all over the place. It is now being rubbished that Shah ever accepted the invitation. Such behavior is hurting Pakistan cricket. Why an official press release could have sufficed if the BCCI Secretary had accepted the invite or otherwise.”
