Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan heap praises on T Natarajan for his impressive Test debut vs Australia. Natrajan travels as a net bowler and dragged into the Test squad as a replacement for injured Indian bowlers.

Irfan Pathan also harped on the importance of having a left-armer in the side. “I always say that left is right. A left-arm bowler is an added advantage for any team as he brings variation in your attack creating a different angle for the batsmen,” Pathan said during his visit to the city to play an exhibition match at the CC&FC ground on Tuesday.
From a net bowler to making Test debut against Australia in the same series, it had been a dream run for Natarajan so far. But Pathan felt the Salem boy still has miles to go. “He has to do a lot in Tests, work on his angle and rhythm,” he pointed out. But Pathan is hopeful that the 29-year-old will be able to keep going.
“The good thing about him is that he has got repetitive action. But he will need to bring his body more behind his delivery at the time of release as that will help him bring the ball into a batsman,” Pathan pointed out.
The former India left-arm pacer, who made his Test debut at Adelaide in 2003, felt Natarajan should not try to hurry things up.
“His initial aim should now be on playing for the country for the next five-seven years and for that he must focus on his fitness. He should continue doing what he has in his armor and slowly learn more while playing. I am sure the team management will also work with him to make him a better product,” he stated.
The ex-India all-rounder looks ahead to the upcoming England series with keen interest. “The England series is also going to be an exciting one. They have a quality attack and if all the English pacers like Jofra Archer, James Anderson, Stuart Broad and others remain fit for the whole series, it will be a good challenge between the bat and the ball,” he concluded.
