The IPL 2024 might see drastic changes as many foreign players are set to depart in the middle of the tournament to carry on their national commitments.
IPL 2024 to Take Drastic Changes
The high-stake IPL 2024 season might be set to see big changes after their recent development. With players like Heinrich Klaasen and Mustafizur Rahman shining in the tournament, several overseas stars might leave in the middle of the tournament to rejoin their national teams.
This news comes after the confirmation of multiple T20 international tours scheduled in April and May before the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies.
While foreign players are a major setback for IPL, their impressive performance might not last in the tournament as they set to leave the tournament.
A five-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe is scheduled for the beginning of May. If both teams want to field their full-strength squad, they might need Mustafizur Rahman and Sikandar Raza who were linked up with IPL.
Mustafizur Rahman plays for Chennai Super Kings while Sikandar Raza plays for Punjab Kings. Bangladesh will be hosting Zimbabwe in a five-match T20I series which is set to start on May 03 with the first three matches to be played in a chattogram while the last two matches will be played in Dhaka.
The T20I series indicates Bangladesh’s strategy to tune their squad for the World Cup tournament in the USA and Caribbean.
Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will be playing their first match of the T20I series on May 03 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Coming to the tournament, 24 matches have been completed and Rajasthan Royals tops the points table with four victories in five matches they played.
The five-time champions Mumbai Indians are set to play in the 25th match of the 2024 campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 11 at Wankhede Stadium.
