Chennai Super Kings to face RCB in IPL 2024 First Match
The 17th edition of the IPL 2024 sponsored by TATA is one of the most anticipated leagues across the world. 10 teams will be participating following the addition of two new franchises in 2022.
The inaugural match will be an intense match between the current champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. These teams have faced each other on 31 occasions out of which CSK clinched victory in 20 matches while RCB won 10 matches and one ends in no result.
BCCI has announced the IPL 2024 Schedule for the first 15 days of the tournament today. Fans can watch it live on Star Sports from 5 PM.

The Bengaluru franchise missed the chance of qualifying to the playoffs last year with just one win away from the reaching the 4th position.

Chennai Super Kings has five new signings during the mini-auction out of which New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell and India’s Sameer Rizvi are the expensive players for the CSK squad in the IPL 2024 auction.
On the other hand, 6 players have been included in the RCB Squad out of which Windies Fast Bowler Alzarri joseph and Indian bowler Yash Dayal were the expensive players for the franchise.
The IPL 2024 schedule has been the most awaited one as the tournament is set to commence in March. However, the announcement in the schedule has been delayed due to the overlapping of the local election dates in India.
To manage the clash in the dates, BCCI has released only the schedule of the first 15 days. The remaining schedule will be revealed after the announcement of the general election dates.
“We have already discussed with the central government about holding the IPL match. We have said that we need details about the date of the election as we have to do the cricket matches and their preparations.”
“We know that the IPL match cannot be held in the states where the elections are held due to security issues. Ministry of Home Affairs and BCCI will release the complete details including the date and venue for the IPL 2024 series as soon as the full notification is received from the Election Commission.”
BCCI has decided to end the IPL matches before the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in June. They have decided to send the Indian players who are not in the playoffs to the USA to train for the marquee event.
