Gujarat Titans won the match by successfully chasing the 153 runs target against Punjab Kings. Winning the toss, Gujarat Titans chose to bowl first where Punjab Kings scored 153 runs for 8 wickets loss at the end of the 20 overs.

Matthew Short scored the team’s highest run – 36. With Shahrukh Khan’s impressive 22 runs from 9 deliveries, Punjab Kings scored 153 runs.

Shubman Gill laid a strong foundation by scoring 67 runs from 49 deliveries. With the boundary of the 5th delivery of the final over, Rahul Tewatia leads the team towards a glorious victory.

The IPL aims for matches to finish in three hours and 20 minutes, but slow overrate is proving to be an issue with several games stretching past the four-hour mark.

An IPL media advisory said “Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Punjab Kings at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on 13th April 2023”.

“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr Pandya was fined Rs. 12 lahks”, the announcement added.

Gujarat Titans will face Rajasthan Royals to play the 23rd league game of the IPL 2023 on April 16 in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. It is worth mentioning, that the last time these two teams played the IPL 2022 final in the same venue, where Gujarat Titans emerged as the winner.
