India Pulls Off 2-0 Test Series Win Against Bangladesh

Following an unparalleled bowling attack, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli led the side to victory after chasing an easy target of 95 at Green Park.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s half-century helped India to a seven-wicket victory at Kanpur test. Resuming the match on Day 04 at 26/2, Bangladesh scored only 146 setting a target of 95 to India.

With bowlers Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah picked three wickets each which helped the side concede low scores in visitors’ second innings.

After Jaiswal’s solid start, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant played the winning innings on October 01. The win gave India a 2-0 win and extended their lead at the top of the WTC points table.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was named as the Player of the match while Ashwin claimed the Player of the Series.  While speaking at the post-match conference, Yashasvi Jaiswal said, “I think I was just thinking about what I can do for my team.”

“The situation was different in Chennai, and different here. Every innings is important. I try my best and prepare in that manner. Was told to play the way I wanted to. Wanted to win this game.”

Meanwhile, Ashwin said, Winning this game was important for us. Massive win for us in the context of the WTC. When we bowled them out yesterday, it was a little after lunch. Rohit was keen that we needed 80 overs to bowl at them.”

“He said even if we get bowled out for 230, it’s okay. And he set the tone with the way he stepped out the first ball. You get more bite with the new ball than the old ball.”

“The more you put overspin, it’s harder on this pitch because the ball doesn’t leave the surface. I’m happy to settle into the rhythm. The revs I put on the ball cannot be underestimated.

India will be playing a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh starting on October 06 at Gwalior International Cricket Stadium.
