South Africa will tour India to play a 5 matches T20I series which kick starts from June 09 in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
KL Rahul has been named as the captain in the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been named as KL Rahul’s deputy.
Many Indian players who out-performed in the recently concluded IPL 2022 have been included in the T20I squad for South Africa series.
But Indian senior batsman Shikhar Dhawan who scored 460 runs at a strike rate of 122.66 has been excluded from India’s T20I squad. Notably, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid made a call to inform Dhawan that, he will not be in the T20 plans anymore.

Sharma said on India News: “I am slightly surprised. I still feel the Indian team needs him, he is an opening batter and gives the left-right combination. And the way he bats, his strike rate is always good. If you give him a role, he definitely works on it because he is a good student of the game and a good team man.”
