IND vs BAN 1st Test Playing 11: India and Bangladesh are scheduled to play two match test series starting on September 19 which is a part of the WTC cycle. India has currently secured the top position and will be aiming to maintain that position.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh will be confident about taking India after a historic win in the test tour of Pakistan. They have secured fourth position in the WTC points table.
Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl. While speaking at the toss, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said, “I’ll like to bowl first. There’s moisture and we want to make use of it. The pitch looks hard. The first session will be very good for the seamers. This is a new series. It’s a good mixture of experience and youth. We go with three seamers.”
Meanwhile, while asked about Rohit what he would do if he won the toss, he said, “I would have done that as well (bowl first). Little soft, the pitch. It’s going to be challenging conditions. We have prepared well, so we should back our potential and play the way we know.”
“Looking at the 10 Test matches, every match is important. But we want to focus on what lies in front of us. We came here a week back, we had a good prep leading up to this one. We feel confident. Three seamers and two spinners – Bumrah, Akash Deep, Siraj, Ashwin and Jadeja.”
