With an impressive bowling display from Imad Wasim and Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan forced Ireland to complete their innings with a score of 106 runs. Imad Wasim and Shaheen Afridi picked three wickets each putting up an impressive show at Florida.
Pakistan and Ireland are scheduled to play their last group stage matches in the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 16 at Central Broward Regional Park Turf Ground. With Pakistani bowlers creating havoc in Ireland’s batting lineup, they scored 32 runs losing 5 wickets in 6 overs.
Pakistan and Ireland are knocked out of the ongoing T20 World Cup as they stand bottom in the Group A Points table.

Coming to the match, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl. Andrew Balbirnie and Paul Stirling opened the innings while Shaheen Afridi opened the bowling attack. Balbirnie was sent out for duck on a full-length delivery where he tried for a drive but the ball went through the gap and hit the stumps.
Afridi Striked again by picking the wicket of Lomran Tucker in the fifth delivery of the first over. He was sent out for two runs with a delivery from Afridi. That was a fuller one where the ball got edged and went into the hands of Rizwan.
The second over was bowled by Mohammad Amir where he dismissed Paul Stirling for one run. In the fourth ball of the over, he picked the wicket on a lengthy delivery where Stirling tried for a drive. But the ball got edged and Keeper Rizwan played the rest.
With a dismissal of Harry Tector for a duck in a lbw, Ireland lost four wickets for 15 runs by the end of the third over. Haris Rauf picked the wicket of Curtis for 7 runs. He slammed the full-length delivery where it got edged and went straight to the Saim Ayub and square leg.
George Dockrell was sent out for 11 runs on a slower ball where he played an early shot where Amir pulled his length back and used his experience to pick the wicket. By the end of the 10th over, Ireland scored 59 losing 6 wickets at Lauderhill.
Imad Wasim picked three wickets in the match collapsing Ireland’s low-order batting lineup. He picked the wicket of Gareth Delany for 31 runs in the 12th over. In the third delivery of the over, Delany was caught out by Shadab Khan. Wasim broke the 44-run partnership and shattered Ireland’s hopes in the match.
He dismissed Mark Adair and Barry McCarthy for 15 and 2 runs respectively in the 14th over. Joshua Little and Benjamin White had the last stand for Ireland. Joshua Little scored 22 runs while Benjamin White Scored 106 runs by the end of 20 over.
With a target of 107 runs, Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub opened the innings where both scored 17 runs each before being dismissed by Barry McCarthy and Mark Adair. Babar Azam continued to bat slow and steady as he remained unbeaten with 32* runs by the end of their innings.
Barry McCarthy and Curtis Campher completely shattered Pakistan’s middle-order lineup as batters returned to the dugout for single-digit scores.
Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, and Imad Wasim were sent out for 5, 2, 0 and 4 runs respectively. Abbas Afridi tried to create a partnership with Babar Azam as he scored 17 runs before being dismissed by Benjamin White. With Shaheen Afridi’s 13* runs, Pakistan scored 111 runs and secured a three-wicket victory.
