    Amazon ropes ICC broadcast rights for events in Australia

    The ICC and Amazon had signed a contract for telecasting the broadcast of ICC Cricket in Australia on December 04, 2023.

    The International Cricket Council and Prime Video announced a four-year deal to provide an exclusive live broadcast right in Australia for ICC cricket, which will be available on Prime Video.

    The Partnership will foresee all ICC men’s and women’s cricket World Cups, T20 World Cups, Champions Trophy, U19s and World Test Championship Final. The deal includes streaming rights to Australia’s 448 games in their home which are scheduled to be played between 2024 to 2027.

    The contract comes live from January 2024 and gives exclusive access to all matches in every tournament of elite ICC competition in all cricket formats. This exclusive broadcast will be added to prime membership at no extra cost.

    The success in the broadcast of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 made the ICC and Prime come in to sign this deal. Australia won their sixth World Cup title after beating India  This World Cup set new records for in-stadium attendance and broadcast views which showcased the interest in World Cup cricket has increased across the globe.

    The ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said, “We are very excited to be entering a new four-year partnership with Prime Video for ICC cricket rights in Australia. The recently concluded Men’s Cricket World Cup has highlighted the interest and passion for ICC Events across the globe, and especially in Australia where cricket fans have enjoyed the recent success of their men’s and women’s teams.”

    Australia is scheduled to play a three-match-test series against Pakistan and the first test will be played between December 14-18 at Optus Stadium.
