The Australian cricketer Mitchell Starc is excited to join KKR and awaits to wear an IPL jersey after eight years.

Mitchell Starc was the most expensive player in IPL history as he was bought for INR 24.75 crores by KKR. The 34-year-old gained his million-dollar contract after the ODI World Cup 2023.
While speaking to CA, Starc recalled his memories from the IPL 2014 and 2015 seasons stating, “It’s been eight years, I think. Back to KKR where I was supposed to be in 2018. So I’ll be back there for the chance to pull on the gold and purple.”
“I guess my memories are a few and far between back in 2014 and 2015 with RCB but yeah, really excited to get stuck in. Obviously, a new group of players. A bunch of guys I certainly haven’t met or been able to work with before,” he stated.
Despite limited opportunities, he has played 27 IPL matches and picked 34 wickets with an average of 20.38.
Starc is looking forward to the IPL 2024 season and sees it as a new challenge.
“A couple of guys that I’ve, international guys that I’ve played against and come across. Yeah, it’s gonna be exciting.”
“It’s a new challenge. But yeah, it’ll be exciting. It’s always a bit of a circus when it is the best T20 league in the world. So, yeah I look forward to it.”
Kolkata Knight Riders also brought back their former captain Gautam Gambhir as a mentor.
Recently, KKR had a setback with several withdrawals due to various reasons. The franchise has brought in Chameera as a replacement for Atkinson for IPL 2024.
Unlike Atkinson, LSG’s player Mark Wood has been withdrawn from the tournament and Shamar Joseph was named as a replacement in the squad.
The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to begin on March 22 with CSK and RCB to play in the first match of the IPL 2024 schedule.
KKR will be playing their first match of the IPL 2024 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23 at Eden Gardens.
