BCCI awarded the Indian Cricket team for winning the T20 World Cup 2024 with an INR 125 Crore Cheque during the felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium.
BCCI Announces 125 Crore Cash Prize Money for Team India
The Indian Cricket team has secured a thrilling victory against South Africa in the finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 and clinched the World Cup title for the second time in a short format.
In return, the board of control for Cricket in India has named a cash prize for the Indian team for their impressive run in the USA and Caribbean.
“I am pleased to announce prize money of INR 125 Crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The team has showcased exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement!’ said BCCI secretary Jay Shah in X.
How much will Each Player get from Prize Money?
The Prize Money of 125 crores will be distributed among the 15-member squad, the four reserve players, and the 15-member support staff.
Each player in the main squad and head coach Rahul Dravid will receive INR 5 crores each, including players who did not play a single game in the T20 World Cup.
Four reserve players Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan will be given 1 crore each. The core support staff including batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey will be rewarded with INR 2.5 crores each.
The three Physiotherapists Kamlesh Jain, Yogesh Parmar, and Thulasi Ram Yuvraj, three throwdown specialists Raghavindraa Dvgi, Nuwan Udeneke, and Dayanan Garani, two masseurs Rajeev Kumar and Arun Desai and the strength & conditioning coach Soham Desai will receive INR 2 crore each. The five selection committee members including Ajit Agarkar will be awarded one crore each.
According to reports, 42 members have traveled to the Caribbean and USA including a logistics manager, video analyst, and Security and Integrity officer will be also rewarded.
A BCCI source revealed that “Players and support staff have been informed about the amount of prize money they will be receiving from the BCCI, and we have asked everyone to submit an invoice.”
