The HRA has released news about the hiking prices of the hotels as the demand increases, from NRIs and other fans living in other states. Ahead of the IND vs PAK World Cup 2023 clash on October 15, the hotel tariffs reach INR 1 Lakh.
Hotel Rates in Ahmedabad Nears INR 1 Lakh For IND – PAK Clash
Hotel room rates are being skyrocketed in Ahmedabad nearly ten-fold, due to the most exciting IND vs PAK match on October 15. International Cricket Council has announced the fixtures for the ICC World Cup 2023, where India and Pakistan would face off in Ahmedabad on October 15 to play their group match.
Rates on various hotel booking websites suggest that demand may have led to the sharp rise in room tariffs for October 15 and surrounding dates, when the rivals will be playing at the Narendra Modi stadium here.
Rental Rooms prices are increased high as much as 10 times, even some hotels have charged close to INR one lakh, which is sold already.
Reason for the Surge in Hotel Rooms Price
On Normal dates, the normal room rents in Luxury hotels would be around between INR 5,000 and INR 8,000 inside the city. But now it has jumped up to INR 40,000 and even up to INR 1 lakh in some places.
As per the Hotel booking portals, the average rent for one deluxe room on the date of July 2 is INR 5,699 by ITC hotels in the city. But the same hotel charged around INR 71,999 on the date of October 15.
Narendra Somani, the president of the Hotel Association in Gujarat said, there are a lot of advanced bookings have been done at massive prices and even continue as we speak in Ahemadabad following the announcement of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
He said, “There are many cricket lovers in India. The World Cup match is being held in Ahmedabad, that to India vs Pakistan. The capacity of the stadium is over one lakh. Around 35,000 people are coming across the country, across the world.
There is a huge gap between the demand and supply. It has been seen that ever since the schedule was announced, online booking started at prices two times, 10 times, or even 20 times higher. Different hotels charged different prices and all these prices are due to the big demand-supply gap,”
He added, “Also, people are booking hotels in Nadiad, Baroda, and other places within the 100 km territory so that they can come to Ahmedabad via road. This will also increase the footfall at restaurants and eateries. Under the BJP Government, we keep getting massive events. The G20 events for example. Such things are a good sign for our hotel industry,”
