Australia had an impressive victory over Afghanistan and registered their 6th victory in the World Cup tournament. Australian player Glenn Maxwell smashed 201* runs and helped the side chase the target of 292 at Wankhede Stadium.

Martin Guptill tops the list with 237 runs scoring against West Indies while Chris Gayle scored 215 runs against Zimbabwe during the World Cup 2015. Glenn Maxwell stands the third with 201 runs while Gary Kirsten scored 188* runs against UAE in World Cup 1996 and Sourav Ganguly scored 183 runs against Sri Lanka against 1999.

Winning the toss, Afghanistan chose to bat where they scored 291 runs losing five wickets on 50 overs. The opener Ibrahim Zadran smashed 129* runs and helped the side to reach the score.

With a target of 292 runs, the Australian top order was collapsed by Afghanistan’s fierce bowling attack. But with the help of Glenn Maxwell, Australia was able to get back in the competition and won the match with 3 wickets in hand.
