David Lloyd’s opens on Sarfaraz Khan’s run out Mix-up
India is currently playing in the third test of England’s tour of India 2024 where test debutant Sarfaraz Khan smashed a half-century before being dismissed on a run-out in the first innings of the third test.
Llyod spoke about the mixup in the run-out saying, “You could see. They were at sixes and sevens, Jadeja and Sarfaraz as to what is a run and what isn’t. Jadeja is sharp; the young kid isn’t.”
“He’s a chunky little lad, and they just struggled running between the wicket together. Jadeja is on 99, and he sells Sarfaraz down the river. He sets off, says yes-no, and is stranded. Then Mark Wood’s got to do the job,” said Lloyd.
Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja shined in the first innings of the test where they hit centuries. Ravindra Jadeja joined a partnership with Rohit Sharma to help India recover from 33/3 to score 200+ runs in the match.
After Rohit Sharma’s dismissal, Jadeja joined a partnership with Sarfaraz Khan where the debutant smashed a half-century.
Batting on the 99 in the final session of day 01, Rajkot’s star Jadeja carelessly called up Sarfaraz Khan for a run where Sarfaraz Khan was dismissed for 62 runs.
That’s Tea on Day 2 in Rajkot!
England move to 31/0 & trail #TeamIndia by 414 runs.
We will be back for the Third Session shortly.

Sarfaraz arrived at the crease when Jadeja was 16 runs short of his century. Hoping to help Jadeja reach the triple-digit figures, Sarfaraz had a mix-up with his teammate, which led to the dismissal of the Mumbai batter.
On the other hand, Dhruv Jurel scored 46 runs in his debut match while Ravichandran Ashwin scored 37 runs in the first innings.
With Bumrah’s 26 runs, India set up a score of 445 runs in their first innings. Mark Wood was impressive for England as he dismissed four batters at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
