BCCI announced the 16-member squad for the upcoming India Women’s tour of Bangladesh scheduled to be played between April 28 to May 09.
Asha Sobhana and Sajana Sajeevan who showcased extraordinary performances in the recently concluded WPL 2024 have been awarded their maiden T20I call-ups for the national team.
Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Indian T20I squad while WPL 2024 winning captain Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy. Indian aggressive opening batter Shafali Verma was named in the squad.

The second-highest wicket-taker of the WPL 2024 season – Asha Sobhana included in the 16-member squad. Radha Yadav and Dayalan Hemalatha who were sidelined for a while made their respective comeback to the national team.
The Railways batter last represented India in the 2022 Asia Cup final in Bangladesh where as Radha had been on the sidelines since India’s semi-final exit at the 202 T20 World Cup in South Africa.
One of the notable exclusions from the India squad is – Jemimah Rodrigues, who aggregated 235 runs for runners-up Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2024 season.
Apart from Jemimah, Minnu Mani and Mannat Kashyap have been dropped from India’s squad.
A total of 5 T20I games will be played between April 28 and May 9 where all 5 matches will be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. Except for the third and fourth T20Is all remaining matches will be played during day time.
