Mumbai Indians has retained former skipper Rohit Sharma along with current captain Hardik Pandya who have been entitled to the role ahead of the 2024 season.
Five-time champions who had a heartbreaking season last year will be looking to build a new squad to aim for ultimate glory.
Along with them Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma have been retained. With Mahela Jayawardene returning to the set-up as the head coach, MI will be aiming to make some valuable additions to their squad at the mega auction.

With a total of INR 75 Crore having been used for the retention, Mumbai will be moving into the mega auction with a remaining purse value of INR 45 Crore.
With a fresh three-year cycle starting with the IPL 2025 season next year, the upcoming retentions will be crucial for all the teams to adopt new strategies for success.
The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will take place in November or December with BCCI exploring the options of holding the event overseas, Riyadh in the United Arab Emirates has emerged as the frontrunner while Muscat, Doha and Riyadh are also being considered.
