    Hardik Pandya on Winning against Punjab Kings- IPL 2024 PBKS vs MI

    Mumbai Indians won the 33rd match of the IPL 2024 schedule against Punjab Kings in a thrilling encounter. They won the match by 9 runs at MYS International Stadium.

    With this victory, Mumbai Indians jumped two spots and secured 7th position in the IPL 2024 points table. With the heroics of Suryakumar Yadav with the bat, Jasprit Bumrah, and Gerald Coetzee with the ball, Mumbai won the match.

    Speaking in the post-match conference, “Very good game of cricket. Everyone’s nerve got tested. We did speak about before the game that the character will be checked in this game.”

    “Naturally you think you’re ahead in the game. But we knew IPL has a tendency to produce these games. Unbelievable – coming in and playing like that (Ashutosh’s knock). Almost every ball hitting the middle. Happy for him and chuffed for his future.”

    “We did speak in the timeout that it doesn’t matter how good we look. We’ll keep scrapping in this game. We were quite soft in certain overs. Nevertheless, a win is a win,” said Hardik Pandya.

    Coming to the match, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma opened for Mumbai Indians. With the dismissal of Ishan Kishan for 8 runs, Suryakumar Yadav came to bat where he joined a partnership with Rohit Sharma to smash 61 runs.

    Rohit Sharma scored 36 runs on 25 deliveries while Suryakumar Yadav scored 78 runs on 53 deliveries including 7 fours and 3 sixes. With the dismissal of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav by Sam Curran, MI scored 148 runs for 3 wickets in the 17th over.

    Hardik Pandya came to bat and scored 10 runs while Tim David Scored 14 runs before being dismissed by Harshal Patel. The star pacer Harshal Patel was impressive during the match with a return of 3/31. Finally, Mumbai Indians scored 192 runs for seven wickets.

    With the target of 193 runs, Punjab Kings struggled with early dismissals as openers Sam Curran and Prabhsimran Singh were sent out with 6 and 0 runs. Rilee Rossouw and Liam Livingstone were dismissed with one run each.

    Shashank Singh Bhatia scored 41 runs in the match helping the side to recover from early dismissals. Ashutosh Sharma took the side to stabilize the scorecard. He smashed fifty in the match and Harpreet Brar joined the partnership guiding the side toward victory.

    Punjab Kings scored 165 runs in 16 overs losing seven wickets. Ashutosh Sharma scored 61 runs on 28 deliveries before being dismissed by Gerald Coetzee.

    Harpreet Brar scored 21 runs and with Kagiso Rabada’s 8 runs, Punjab Kings scored 183 runs on the last over losing all 10 wickets at Maharaja Yadavindra International Cricket Stadium.
