Babar Azam on Winning 1st Test vs SL: Pakistan cricket team under Babar Azam has been scheduled to tour Sri Lanka to play 2 match Test series between July 16 to July 28. Only two Test matches have been scheduled to play during the tour. The Test series will form part of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship.
The two test matches of the SL vs PAK 2023 will be played in two different venues. The first match will be played at Galle International Stadium, Galle while the last match will be played at Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo.

Babar Azam on Winning 1st Test vs SL: Pakistan kick-started the tour with a win against the host by 4 wickets. Babar Azam praises Saud and Agha for the victory during the post-match presentation.
“When you win the match, you grow in confidence. All credit to the boys, especially the youngsters. We lost early wickets but the way Saud and Agha played totally changed the game. Agha showed his talent and passion with both bat and ball. As a captain, I am impressed and happy with the performance. It’s not easy to bat here but the way Saud played was outstanding”, Babar Azam said.
Speaking on the 1st Test, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. The host scored 312 runs for 10 wickets loss at the end of the 1st inning with Dhananjaya de Silva’s century.
On the other hand, the visitors scored 461 runs with Saud Shakeel’s unbeaten double-century. While Sri Lanka failed to make a massive lead in their second inning and scored 279 runs for 10 wickets loss.
Abrar Ahmed and Noman Ali bagged 3 wickets each and restricted SL to score further. In Pakistan’s second inning, the batters struggled to score against the aggressive bowling attack of Prabath Jayasuriya who bagged 4 wickets on behalf of Sri Lanka.
But, Imam-ul-Haq scored an unbeaten 50 and led Pakistan to register their victory. Saud Shakeel has been awarded Player of the Match for his impressive batting performance in the 1st inning.
