GT vs RCB 2024 Highlights: Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered their third victory of the IPL 2024 season during the match against Gujarat Titans on April 28 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
After having a poor start in the campaign, RCB has returned to their winning ways despite their chances for playoffs being very low. RCB won the match by 9 wickets and Will Jacks was named the Player of the Match. He also joined the elite list of players to score the fastest century in IPL.
While speaking in the post-match conference, Will Jacks said, “Amazing feeling right now. Faf and Virat got us off to a very good start. I struggled early on, but Virat kept his intensity up and gave me the chance to find my rhythm.”
“Once we had the time-out, we said, “Let’s get two really good overs here and we win the game.” Once that happened, I just kept going and amazing feeling right now. I was trying to be positive (against spin early on), was just struggling.”
“I was trying to overhit the ball, probably little bit tensed. Once I got one away off Mohit, I relaxed, got into my innings and then just trusted myself. Next game, hopefully, I do that earlier. (Batting with Kohli) It’s amazing, he’s a legend of the game and is someone everyone looks up to.”
“To spend some time in the middle is a great feeling a huge learning curve. When I go away from the IPL, I’ll learn so much from batting with him and playing with him. I’ll try to take it all on board. I need to be a bit more adaptable at the beginning of my innings and get myself in a little bit quicker.”
“I was lucky today because 17 off 17 is not going to win you many games. The other guys around me saved me earlier today,” said Will Jacks.
Will Jacks and Virat Kohli’s impressive knock in the match helped the side to secure victory at Ahmedabad Stadium.
Coming to the match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and opted to bowl where Gujarat Titans scored 200 runs losing three wickets in their innings.
Swapnil Singh dismissed Wriddhiman Saha for 5 runs in the last ball of the first over while Glenn Maxwell dismissed Shubman Gill for 16 runs. Sai Sudharsan and Shahrukh Khan joined hands to score 84 partnership runs. Shahrukh Khan scored 58 runs in the match before being dismissed by Siraj.
With Sudharsan’s 84* and David Miller’s 26* runs Gujarat Titans scored 200 runs. With a target of 201 runs, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis opened for RCB where the latter was sent to the dugout for 24 runs.
Virat Kohli and Will Jacks joined hands to score 206 runs and helped the side secure 9 9-wicket victory.
