The all-rounder Grace Harris has replaced Darcie Brown in the ODI squad for the Australia Women’s tour of Bangladesh 2024.
Grace Harris Replaces Darcie Brown
Grace Harris will be replacing Darcie Brown due to a stress issue in her left foot with no timeline for her recovery.
Brown was set to travel with other team members to Dhaka on Saturday but her scans revealed a stress injury to the navicular bone in her left foot.
Tayla Vlaeminck had two lengthy sidelines in recent years due to a navicular stress injury and Cricket Australia medical staff tried to avoid a similar scenario with Brown.
Harris has been selected only for T20Is initially but will be traveling soon to Bangladesh. She played for UP Warriorz in the WPL 2024 season where the franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs.
On another update, all-rounder Heather Graham is now unavailable for the series due to illness. Jess Jonassen had been omitted from the squad which was announced last month and Tayla Vlaeminck had earned a recall.
Recently, Australia completed a three-match ODI, T20I, and one-off test on South Africa women’s tour of Australia 2024.
Australia is set to play a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series in the tour. This ODI series will be part of the Women’s Championship.
Australia is currently at the top of the points table with ten games out of fifteen matches with 22 points while Bangladesh is currently placed in seventh with four wins from 15 games with 13 points.
Australia will be playing their first ODI match of the tour on March 21 at Sher-e-Bangla.
