During the IPL 2024 Auction, Mumbai Indians spend a massive INR 5 crore to bag the service of the South African fast bowl Gerald Coetzee.
Mumbai went hard on Gerald Coetzee following his performance in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 played in India.

Apart from that speaking of the match, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first. While everyone expected Bumrah to open the attack, captain Hardik Pandya took the responsibilities and bowled the first over of the game.
In his very first over, his former teammates Saha and Gill each smashed a boundary and scored a total of 11 runs in the over. Hardik who bowled the third over of the game gave boundaries off his first two deliveries and finished the over after spelling 9 runs.
Mumbai’s senior spinner Chawla bagged the first wicket of the match by dismissing GT skipper Shubman Gill for 31 runs, following his dismissal, Bumrah dismissed Saha for 19 runs while Gujarat titans scored 64 runs in 7.4 overs.
Gujarat Titans’ new recruiter Azmatullah Omarzai scored 17 runs from 11 deliveries before being dismissed from Gerald Coetzee, his maiden IPL wicket. As of now, Gujarat Titans scored 154 runs for 5 wickets loss at the end of 18 overs.
