The Gujarat Cricket Association(GCA) has decided to introduce a pension scheme for Women cricketers from the state. A decision in this regard was taken at the 87th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the cricket body at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Monday.
GCA Introduce Pension Scheme for Women Cricketers
As per the report, “the AGM also decided to increase the pension of men cricketers by 25%. In other decisions, the AGM decided to increase the ground maintenance subsidy, ground equipment subsidy and infrastructure subsidy received by the various district cricket associations from the GCA, apart from the hike in match subsidy”.
Gujarat Cricket Association was founded in 1934 and it governs the cricket activities in the Gujarat state. It is located in the Motera, Ahmedabad district, Gujarat. The GCA is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
“As a member of BCCI, it has the authority to select players, umpires and officials to participate in state events and exercises total control over them in Gujarat. Without its recognition, no competitive cricket involving GCA-contracted players can be hosted within the State of Gujarat and India”.
“The salary of coaches in academies run by district cricket bodies has also been increased. The GCA has 11 district cricketing associations under it. The meeting was attended by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah and GCA president Dhanraj Nathwani”, the report added.
