BCCI shares Video of Gambhir training with Team India

BCCI has shared a video of Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav taking the field at Kandy which shows India has started their preparations for their first T20I against the home side this week.

In the video, Gambhir was seen having a conversation with his coaching staff. Both Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav have addressed and had detailed discussions with the team.

The T20I squad featuring star players like Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, and other squad members has arrived in Sri Lanka on July 22. With the ODI series starting on August 02, other players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will join the squad later on.

The former Indian batter talked about creating a nice dressing room environment and taking forward Indian cricket after their recent T20 World Cup triumph in the USA and Caribbean.

Before departing to Sri Lanka, Gambhir said, “I have always said that a happy dressing room is a winning dressing room. That’s my responsibility. For me, I don’t complicate too many things. I am taking over a very, very successful team. T20 World champions, runner-up in the World Test Championship and the 50-over World Cup. There are issues to fill, but this is a champions’ team,” Gambhir said.

The Sri Lanka tour will begin with the T20I leg starting on July 27 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
