The 2nd T20I match between IND and WI on the WI tour 2023 concluded with the victory of the West Indies.
Ishan’s plan on dismissing Rovman Powell in 2nd T20I
Ishan Kishan tried to dismiss Rovman Powell in a controversial manner on the 2nd T20I match on India’s West Indies tour 2023. He tried to outsmart Rovman Powell from behind the stumps but ended up waiting for a long time in Guyana.
On the 7th over of the match, Ravi Bishnoi bowled a wide off-leg stump but Kishan collected it tactically. He held his position and waited for the batter to lift his leg so that he can dismiss him.
But it was too late as Rovman Powell already entered the crease thus the plan for dismissing him failed. Even though Ishan Kishan didn’t break the law but his actions didn’t go down well with some fans, who are now trolling him.
Ishan Kishan waited, and waited! But ended up waiting too long, perhaps!

After their defeat in the 1st T20I against West Indies, India decided to bat first as they won the toss. Having a poor start in batting, India lost its batters Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill was sent out on the powerplay.
Tilak Varma, struck his first international half-century in the T20I match as he scored 51 runs out of 41 deliveries that included 5 boundaries and 1 six. Captain Hardik Pandya also had 24 runs in the second T20I match.
West Indies Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, and Romario Shepherd scalped two wickets each. West Indies had a terrible start as Brandon King was ducked and other Johnson Charles was dismissed by Hardik Pandya. Kayle Mayers was sent out on the power play itself.
Nicholas Pooran was batting well at the other end and supported West Indies’ position in the match. He shifted his team’s favour by hitting his Ravi Bishnoi bowling with 18 runs.
During that period, Ishan Kishan tried to dismiss Rovman Powell which created a ruckus among the fans. After Powerplay, Yuzendra Chahal was introduced to bowling and Powell tried to play a leg shot but failed to make contact with the ball.
He managed to keep his backfoot grounded after his mis-shot. Usually, the players lift their back foot after this situation to recover their balance.
Ishan Kishan also expected the same thing from Rovman Powell, where he waited for dismissing him to raise his back foot so that he could stump him. The batter did raise his leg, but he soon entered the crease before Kishan could stump him.
