The Jamaican cricketer Fabian Allen has been a victim of a robbery where his personal bag and mobile were forcibly taken near Sandton Sun Hotel in Johannesburg.

Fabian Allen has been part of the Paarl Royals in South Africa’s SA20 2024 league. The league has been one of the most successful leagues globally since its launch.

Some of the big names worldwide have participated in this competition which made it famous. All-rounder Fabian Allen is one of the overseas players set to play in the league.

However, The CWI has confirmed that no assaults have been recorded and the player did not suffer any harm.

“Our head coach Andre Coley, also hailing from Jamaica, reached out to Fabian. Contact was successfully established through Obed McCoy (another West Indies international). He is fine. CSA (Cricket South Africa) and his team, Paarl Royals, could share more details if there are any,” a top CWI official said.

However, the officials and Paarl Royals also confirmed the incident but the franchise did not respond to queries from the media.

The SA20 2024 playoff will start with the Durban Super Giants taking on the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in Qualifiers 1. Paarl Royals will be playing in the Eliminators match against the Joburg Super Kings in Johannesburg.

Fabian Allen has been more handy with the bat down the order and has represented the West Indies in 20 ODIs and 32 T20Is. He is known for batting down in middle orders. He has an economy ray of 7.43.

But he was not in his best form in the ongoing SA20. Allen has a high score of 17* runs in six matches he played in this season. He picked up only two wickets in four innings.

Durban Super Giants and Sunrisers Eastern Cape will be facing off each other in qualifiers 1 on February 06 at Newlands Cricket Ground.
