The England Cricket Board has revealed the schedule for The Hundred which is set to be played between July and August.

ECB announces The Hundred 2024 schedule

The fourth edition of the Hundred will be played between 8 teams in men’s and Women’s competitions starting on July 23. The first match will be played between Birmingham Phoenix and Oval Invincibles and the finals will be played at the Lord’s.

The League stage of the tournament will be played until August 15. Like the previous years, all of the matches are doubleheaders with Women’s fixtures playing in the first slot.

Only the top three teams will qualify for the next stage where the team finishing at the top of the points table will qualify directly for the finals. The other two teams will clash with each other in the eliminators to compete in the finals.

“I can’t wait for The Hundred. It’s such a fun competition to play in, and the crowds are getting better and better. You can really feel the difference at The Hundred in terms of the number of young people and families in the crowd.

“It’s done so much for the women’s game and the lift in both the profile and the standard of women’s cricket has been amazing,” said Southern Brave Batter Danni Wyatt.

Oval Invincibles are the champions of the Men competition while Southern Brave are the defending champions of the Hundred 2023.

England allrounder Sam Curran also expressed his thoughts on the fourth season of The Hundreds saying, “I think the third year of The Hundred was a huge step forward for the competition.

“We know the standard is top quality but with every year we play it the format itself becomes part of the event. We saw so many close finishes last year in the men’s competition and close contests are so good for bringing fans in.

“We’d love to be back at Lord’s in August to try and defend our trophy but we’re also looking forward to getting back out in front of our fans at the Kia Oval,”he added.

Oval Invincibles and Birmingham Phoenix will be playing their first match on July 23, at The Oval.
