The England Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the England squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of India and the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
The upcoming tour will be the first limited-over assignment under the guidance of newly appointed England’s white-ball coach Brendon McCullum.
Joe Root will be returning to the ODI squad after making his last appearance in the Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign where they secured three out of nine league stage matches.

Root has played 171 ODIs and scoring 6522 runs at an average of 47.60 which includes 16 centuries and 39 half centuries.
Meanwhile Ben Stokes has not been considered for selection as he is still recovering from a left hamstring injury picked up during England’s third test match against New Zealand earlier this month.
England will be play a five match T20I series and three match ODI series with T20I series beginning on January 22.
Jos Buttler will be leading the white ball squads, feature a mix of youth and experience. Root has been only selected for the ODIs and Champions Trophy and the 20 year old spinner Rehan Ahmed which only features in the T20I squad.
England will be travel to India on January 17, with the first T20I played on January 22 in Eden Gardens.
