In the first Test of Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023, India’s prolific allrounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen applying “something” over the ball in the middle of the match which Australian media accuses of Ball Tampering.
Did Jadeja Tampered The Ball During 1st Test vs AUS
The video went viral on social media as some of the users, “unknowing” referred the incident as “Ball Tampering”.
The incident happened during the 45th over of India’s first inning where Jadeja before bowling moved to Siraj and shared something from Siraj and was seen applying it over the ball. But on analysing the event closely it is revealed that Jadeja was seen applying some cream over his bowling finger, not on the ball.

Indian Team Management Answers
As per a report, The Indian team management has informed ICC match referee Andy Pycroft that star spinner Ravindra Jadeja was using ‘pain-relieving cream’ on the finger of his bowling hand.
At the time of the incident, Jadeja had already dismissed Steven Smith, Matt Renshaw, and Marnus Labuschagne and Australia were 120 for 5.

Hours before the Day 2 stumps, India scored 292 runs for 7 wickets loss where Jadeja and Axar Patel anchored the inning in favour of India.
