Earlier New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson also tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the second test and was ruled out. In his absence, Tom Latham was named the captain of New Zealand. Notably, the series is being played without bio-bubble.

Conway is the 4th member from the NZ camp who has tested positive for the infection after the 2nd Test.

“Conway undertook a PCR test on arrival in London on Wednesday evening in preparation for a team activity. He joins all-rounder Michael Bracewell and support staff personnel Vijay Vallabh (physio) and Chris Donaldson (strength & conditioning) as members of the tour party to have tested positive on Wednesday,” New Zealand Cricket said in its official release.

“The three will travel separately from the team to Leeds on Sunday and providing they recover as expected will be able to join the team for training at Headingley on Tuesday, ahead of Thursday’s final Test,” read a statement from New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

England already sealed the series by winning the first two match of the three-match test series. England won the first and second test match by 5 wickets.

Joe Root won the player of the match for the first test match while Jonny Bairstow bagged the player of the match in the second test match. The third test match will kick start on June 23, 2022 in Headingley, Leeds.
