The 35 year old Australia bowler Scott Boland has dismissed the panic situations after the side’s defeat in the Perth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Boland is set to replace injured Josh Hazlewood in the playing Xl for the second test. Boland has 35 wickets from 10 tests, said that’s nothing to worry about solitary defeat.
“There’s definitely not panic stations in our change rooms. There’s obviously going to be some chats around individual performances and everyone wants to perform really well every game they play.”
“But yeah, it’s like, we’ve lost one game. It’s not toys out of the cot, I don’t think,” Boland said on Saturday.
Boland said that Australia have plans for Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul who both played crucial knocks in the Perth Test.
“We’ve spoken as a team about our plans for all the different Indian batters. I won’t tell you those, but we’ve got pretty set plans. They might have a little bit of a tweak after the guys have seen them again from Perth, because obviously [Yashasvi] Jaiswal batted really well there,” said Scott Boland.
“KL Rahul batted well in the second dig as well and really digged in. So we’ll probably have a chat over the next week and our plans might slightly change, but I’m pretty confident what we did in the first games was good,” Scott Boland added.
Australia have an excellent record in Day-Night Tests, having won 11 out of 12 matches since 2015. After winning 11 matches in a row, they lost to West Indies by eight runs earlier this year at The Gabba in Brisbane.
Currently, India stands first while Australia stands second in the WTC points table. The Aussies have a 7-0 record in Pink-ball tests at the Adelaide oval. India secured a 295-runs victory at Perth and will be looking to replicate the same at Adelaide Oval starting on December 06.
