The right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar has been clinched by five-time champions Mumbai Indias for a price of INR 9.25 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Making his IPL debut in 2016 for Pune Supergiant, he has played only 2 games in the 2016 season and three games in the 2017 season. Since then he has been playing for CSK and has been part of the squad that won the title after contributing 10 wickets in 12 games.
In the next season, he picked 22 wickets in 17 games. In 2020 season, he picked 12 wickets and 14 wickets in the 2021 season.

Despite a injury set back in the 2023, he played 10 matches and also played only 8 matches during 2024 season.
Chahar has played 81 games in the IPL and has picked 77 wickets. During the 2025 auction, MI and PBKS made early bids for the pacer. With bid set to reach 8 crore mark, PBKS decided to pull out where CSK bidded for the player, but MI finally clinched the player.
