David Warner becomes the highest run-scorer for Australia in T20Is after surpassing former captain Aaron Finch during their Opener match against Oman in T20 World Cup 2024 on June 06.
David Warner scored 56 runs on 51 deliveries including six fours and one six with a strike rate of 109.80. He amassed 3155 runs in 104 matches surpassing Aaron Finch’s record of 3,120 runs in 103 runs.
Warner smashed his 27th T20I fifty of his career before being dismissed by Oman’s right-arm pacer Kaleemullah, due to lack of timing in the shot he played. He also surpassed West Indies Legend Chris Gayle who has 110 fifties in T20 cricket with his 111 fifties in the format. With retired from ODI and Test formats, David Warner could be playing his last T20 World Cup.
