CSA has announced their South Africa squad for Champions Trophy 2025 where the fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi have been returned to the squad after missing the home international season due to injuries.
Temba Bavuma will be leading the 15-member squad which has 10 players from the ODI World Cup 2023 squad. Meanwhile, Wiaan Mulder, Tony de Zorzi and Ryan Rickelton will be playing their first ICC event.
South Africa is placed in group B of the Champions Trophy 2025 alongside Australia, Afghanistan and England.

While speaking on the squad announcement, head coach Rob Walter said, “This squad boasts a wealth of experience, with many players having consistently performed in high-pressure situations. That kind of experience is invaluable in a tournament like this.
“We’ve managed to maintain the core group of our 2023 World Cup squad, whilst adding fresh talent.
“Our recent performances at ICC events show that we’re capable of reaching the latter stages of global tournaments. We’re eager to take the next step and go even further in pursuit of the coveted silverware.
As per South Africa’s Champions Trophy 2025 schedule, Proteas will begin their campaign with their clash against Afghanistan on February 21 at Karachi.
