The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has revealed that the CPL finals 2026 will be hosted in Barbados for the first time while Guyana will host the finals of the 2025 season.
The CPL announced that it had one-year deals with the two venues to host the final for the next two years.
While speaking at the press conference, the president of Guyana Mohammed Irfan Ali said, “I want to take this opportunity to wish Guyana Amazon Warriors all success on behalf of all Guyanese as we try to make it two in a row.”
“To all the other teams we wish you well as we play together in unity. I am also very delighted to announce that Guyana will be hosting CPL 2025 finals.”
Barbados Royals are two-time Caribbean Premier League winners, having last lifted the trophy in 2019.
Meanwhile, CEO Pete Russell said, “Guyana and Barbados have been amazing partners for CPL over the last 12 years and it is really exciting to be able to announce that they will be hosts for the finals in 2025 and 2026 respectively.”
“We would like to thank the governments of both Guyana and Barbados who have agreed to play host to the conclusion of CPL.”
The 2026 hosts, Barbados saw their franchise lift the trophy twice in 2014 and 2019 when they were named the Barbados Tridents.
“I am so happy to say that the CPL finals 2026 will be in Bridgetown at Kensington Oval,” said Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley. “As you prepare for the long march to Bridgetown, let’s hope my own team, Barbados Royals, can take it to the finals this year.
“If we don’t we will catch you next year, and for sure we are going to catch you in Bridgetown in 2026.”
Since the inaugural competition, Trinidad has staged the event on six occasions twice at the Queen’s Park Oval in the port of Spain and four times at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
The only other Caribbean host nation was Saint Kitts and Nevis, who held the CPL final at Warner Park in Basseterre in 2014, 2016 and 2021.
