In the pursuit of chasing CSK’s score of 176 runs, Lucknow Super Giants smashed 100 in 10.5 overs without losing any wickets. LSG openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock had impressive innings at Lucknow Stadium.
Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings are set to play in the 34th match of the IPL 2024 schedule where Ravindra Jadeja smashed a half-century on 32 deliveries.
With both sides having played six matches so far in the tournament, KL Rahul-led LSG is hosting CSK on April 19 after securing three victories.
On the other hand, CSK has been in impressive form so far in the season where they secured four victories out of six matches they played. Currently, CSK is comfortable in the third position while LSG has secured fifth position in the IPL 2024 points table.
Batting first, Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra opened for Chennai Super Kings where the first over was bowled by Matt Henry. CSK captain Ruturaj came to bat and scored 17 runs before being dismissed by Yash Thakur in the fifth over of their innings.
Ravindra Jadeja joined Rahane in the field and helped the side to score 51 runs by the end of the powerplay. Shivam Dube was sent back to the dugout for 3 runs by Marcus Stoinis and Krunal Pandya sent out Sameer Rizvi for 1 run. CSK scored 105 runs for wickets after the completion of the 15th over.
With a crucial time, Moeen Ali’s 30 runs before his dismissal helped the side to get back in the game. Ravindra Jadeja smashed a half century scoring 57 runs on 40 deliveries. After Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni came to bat and helped the side to score 176 runs by the end of 20 overs.

With a target of 177 runs, Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul opened for LSG and went to smash fifty in the match. KL Rahul smashed fifty on 32 balls while Quinton de Kock smashed 50 on 41 deliveries. Nicholas Pooran joined KL Rahul to speed up the victory for the side.
KL Rahul scored 82 runs on 53 deliveries including 9 fours and 3 sixes with a strike rate of 154.72 while Nicholas Pooran smashed 23* runs in 12 deliveries.
Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana bagged a wicket each for CSK but the visitors suffered defeat with 8 wicket difference.
