Chandika Hathurusingha expects Shakib to feature in the nets and make an impact as Bangladesh is currently trailed 1-0 in the series.
“At the moment, I haven’t heard from my physio or anyone. He is still eligible for selection,” said Hathurusingha.
“I am not upset about his performance. Our overall performance, we could have done better. I am sure that he also thinks that he can perform better. We all know what he is capable of,” Hathurusinghe commented.

Shakib’s performance in the Chennai test had a positive impact in the second innings but the quality of his opponent got the better of the veteran all-rounder.
“He batted really well in the second innings. He couldn’t go on, not because of a lack of pride. It’s the sheer quality of the opposition,” he said.
Bangladesh will need to have a positive impact to get better of India which has been dominant in home conditions. Shakib will likely have to big part to play with both bat and ball.
Shakib might been in the final stretches of his cricketing career and hoped for a brilliant display in the tests. with Reports suggesting the pitch in Kanpur would be different to the one in Chennai.
India comfortably sits at the top while Bangladesh sits sixth in the WTC points table after the first test played at Chennai.
Leading 1-0, India will be facing Bangladesh in a second test starting on September 27 at Green Park.
