The BBL franchise Melbourne Renegades who finished Seventh Position in the BBL 2023-24 season, has roped in Cameron White as their new head coach replacing David Saker ahead of the Big Bash League 2024-25 season.
Cameron White Named as Melbourne Renegades Head Coach
Former Australia batting All-rounder Cameron White has signed a three-year contract and is set to make his first head coach job in his career. He has worked as assistant head coach under Sydney Sixers boss Greg Shipperd for the last two years and before that worked as assistant coach at the Adelaide Strikers.

Cameron White has made 142 appearances for Australia across all three formats. He was known for his impressive contributions in the middle-order in Limited overs format.
He has played 91 ODIs, 04 Tests, and 47 T20Is during his career and amassed 3202 runs across the formats. He has amassed 10537 runs in first-class runs between the years 2000 and 2019.
He inherits a Renegades list that includes aggressive batter Jake Fraser-McGurk and spinners Adam Zampa and Nathan Lyon. While speaking about joining Renegades, Cameron White said, “I’ve got so many great memories here as a player and achieving success, so to be back in Renegades colors several years later is a thrill.”
“The idea of working with this playing group – some really exciting players there, both young and experienced – is really exciting. I’m really looking forward to ripping in and starting my journey as a coach.”
He has captained the T20I side six times and ODI once in 2011. He was part of the Squad when Australia won the ICC Champions Trophy after defeating New Zealand in 2009. He also played for the Renegades during the 2019 season. He scored 931 runs in 35 games he played for the Renegades.
