In a recent development, CA has unveiled its highly anticipated Australia test team of the year 2024.
Notably, three players from England, two each from India, Australia and New Zealand and one each from Sri Lanka and South Africa have been named in the list with Bumrah named as captain.
Jasprit Bumrah who has picked 71 wickets in 13 tests has shined with brilliant form throughout the year and also become the fastest Indian pacer to reach 200 test wickets, achieving the milestone with an average of 14.92.
Other than Bumrah, Jaiswal who has showed consistent performance through out the year has also been named in the test Xl. He finished the year with a remarkable 1478 runs in 15 matches.
The team will also feature England’s opener Ben Duckett who makes the cut into the test Xl. Duckett has been excellent form at the top of the order and will partner Jaiswal as the opening batsman.
Meanwhile Joe Root who has been consistent performer for England has been slotted in No.3. The New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra who had a successful campaign in India earned a spot ahead of legendary Kane Williamson.
England’s rising star Harry Brook has been includede in the tema and will play at No. 5 spot while Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis will be filling the no. 6 slot.
Australia wk-batter Alex Carey will be completing the batting line-up with being slotted at No.7.
The Bowling department will be filled equally with Jasprit Bumrah leading the attack along with Matt Henry and Josh Hazlewood. Meanwhile South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has been also named in the Australia’s Test team of the Year for 2024.
