India Squad For SL ODI: As a road for the preparation for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, long-missed Jasprit Bumrah has been added to the Indian ODI squad for the Sri Lanka ODI series.

Bumrah make his international return right after being declared fit. Bumrah, who has been out of action since September 2022, is expected to feature this month against Sri Lanka after being added to the ODI squad.
Bumrah played his last ODI match against England at Lord’s on July 14, 2022. So far Bumrah played 72 ODIs and bagged 121 wickets at an economy rate of 4.64.
In August 2022, Bumrah was diagnosed with a stress reaction in his back and was ruled out of India’s Asia Cup campaign later that month.
However, in September, Bumrah was declared fit and was picked in India’s T20 World Cup squad. The same squad also featured in India’s build-up to the tournament with home games against Australia and South Africa.
Bumrah featured in two of the three T20s against Australia but was pulled out on the eve of the South Africa series, India’s last before the World Cup after he complained of back pain
Bumrah’s last appearance for India was against Australia in the T20I series at home before getting sidelined with a stress reaction in his back. He had to miss the T20 World Cup in Australia as a result and underwent rehabilitation before being declared fit by the NCA.
India already have Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh in the squad for the Sri Lanka series. The series kickstarts on January 10 in Guwahati. Bumrah’s return is a timely boost for the senior side with Australia set to tour India next month for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The first ODI match of the Sri Lanka tour of India 2023 will be played on January 10 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.
