Melbourne Stars opener Ben Duckett smashed six fours in an over from Akeal Hosein in the BBL 2024-25 match against Sydney Sixers on December 26.
Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bowl first with dismissing Tom Fraser Rogers in the second over of the game. Duckett walked out to open alongside Rogers was kept quiet until the last over of the powerplay.
In the last over of the powerplay bowled by Akeal Hosein, Ben Duckett went ballistic and decided to take the spinner on. Duckett was relentless and hit more over the bowler’s head to end the over with 24 runs with 6 fours.
Duckett opener along with Tom Fraser Rogers and went on to berserk mode in the last over of the powerplay.
Ben Duckett ended with an innings of 68 runs off 29 balls. He batted with a strike rat of 234 and also slammed 10 fours and 2 sixes. His staggering effort with bat powered Melbourne Stars to a total of 194 runs.
Meanwhile, Ben Dwarshuis who picked two wickets for Sixers has secured fourth position in the list of BBL 2024-25 most wickets.

Meanwhile Sydney Sixers chase the target of 195 with Josh Phillipe and James Vince opened the innings with a solid partnership of 83 runs with Phillipe scoring 42 runs in 23 deliveries.
James Vince continued to bat and smashed a century in the match ending the match with an unbeaten 101 runs off 58 balls including 12 fours and 4 sixes and have been placed in second position in the list of most runs.
With cameo from Moises Hendriques (11) and Jordan Silk’s unbeaten 34 runs Sixers won the match by 8 wickets with 11 balls left in hand.
Sydney Sixers sits comfortably in the top position of the points table with three wins. Melbourne Stars’ next match will be played against Sydney Thunder on December 28 at Manuka Oval.
