Ben Curran, the brother of Sam Curran and Tom Curran has been named in the squad for the ODI series on the Afghanistan tour of Zimbabwe 2024.
The 28-year-old is the son of Kevin Curran, who played 11 ODIs for Zimbabwe between 1983 and 1987, before serving as their head coach between 2005 and 2007.
Ben Curran has played for Northamptonshire between 2018 and 2022 receives his maiden call-up after an impressive domestic season.
He was the leading runscorer in Zimbabwe’s 50 over competition and has an impressive average of 64.50 this season.

He also tops the standings in red-ball competition averaging 74.14 while their T20 competition is yet to begin this season.
Apart from Ben, young left arm pacer Newman Nyamhuri has made an impression earlier this year in the U-19 World Cup in South Africa, where he was Zimbabwe’s highest wicket taker.
Newman has been picked for both ODIs and T20Is and Clive Madande who is recovering from a shoulder dislocation. Afghanistan’s tour will kick off with three match T20I series scheduled to be held in Harare from December 11-14.
