The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the India squad for Champions Trophy 2025.
After India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph win, they are once again set to stage in the ICC event aiming for the ultimate glory.
India team will be captained by Rohit Sharma while Shubman Gill named as his deputy. The batting lineup is boasted with the likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja will bring balance to the squad with their all-rounder skills.
Meanwhile, the bowling unit is powered up with the likes of Bumrah, Shami along Arshdeep Singh.
Returning after eight years, the Champions Trophy will be held in the hybrid model as India refused to travel to Pakistan and hence India’s matches will be played in Dubai.
The stance between BCCI and PCB has resulted in the delay of the schedule announcement which was made on December 24.
PCB accepted netural venue has resulted that all India-Pakistan matches hosted by either country in the 2024-27 cycle will be played in the netural venue.
Along with this, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was awarded the hosting rights of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028, in which the same hybrid model will be applied.
India is placed in Group A along with Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand. As Per India’s Champions Trophy 2025 schedule The men in blues will begin their campaign with the match against Bangladesh on February 20, before meeting their arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23.
The finals will be played on March 09 in Lahore,unless India qualify, in which case it will be played in Dubai.
