BCCI has announced the India Squad for Afghanistan T20Is scheduled to be played between January 11 to January 17, 2024.
As per IND vs AFG 2024 schedule, the first match will be played on January 11 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
India Squad for Afghanistan T20Is
Indian regular skipper Rohit Sharma has been named as the captain of the India squad for Afghanistan T20Is. While star batter Virat Kohli also earned his spot in the squad.
Injured players Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav have failed to make it into the squad. Apart from these two players many frontline players including Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj haven’t been picked for the series.
Interestingly, Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson have been picked as the two wicketkeeping options in what is India’s last T20I series ahead of the 2024 World Cup.
Spinners Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have been added to the squad while three pacers – Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar included in the India Squad for Afghanistan T20Is.

The second and third T20I matches of the series will be played on January 14 and January 17 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore and M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
