The BCCI has revealed the updates to India’s home season 2024-25 schedule and significant changes to the upcoming T20I fixtures. The first T20I between India and Bangladesh was initially scheduled to be held at Dharamsala HPCA Stadium on October 06, 2024.
But now, it will take place at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. The venue shift is due to ongoing upgrades and renovation work at the Dharamsala stadium’s dressing rooms. The match will mark the inaugural international fixture at Gwalior’s new stadium. It holds one of the historical moments where Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar became the first male cricketer to score a double century in ODIs against South Africa in 2010.

In other updates, BCCI has swapped the venues for the first and second T20I against England. Originally, Chennai was set to host the first T20I on January 22, 2025, and Kolkata the second on January 25, 2025. Under the revised schedule, Kolkata will now host the first T20I, and Chennai to host the second.
This change comes in response to a request from Kolkata Police to accommodate their Republic Day commitments. Despite the venue changes, the dates for the matches remain unchanged.
India’s 2024-25 home season is set to begin with two tests and three T20Is against Bangladesh scheduled to be played between September 19 and October 12.
Following the schedule, New Zealand will tour India to play a three-match test series played between October 16 and November 05. The England series will feature five T20Is and three ODIs to be played between January and February 12, 2025, ahead of the Champions Trophy.
The ODI series against England is the only 50-over game scheduled for India before the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
