Bangladesh T20 specialist Afif Hossain and wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan were left out of the Bangladesh Squad For Ireland T20I Series.
Afif Hossain Left Out of Bangladesh Squad
During the Ireland tour of Bangladesh 2023 a total of 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and 1 Test match are scheduled to play between March 18 to April 8. Apart from two noticeable misses, uncapped legspinner Rishad Hossain and uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali have been included in Bangladesh’s 14-member squad for the T20I series against Ireland.
“Since the series is against Ireland we want to see the progress of Rishad as the management are keen to have a wrist spinner. We feel he is well prepared being in the High Performance [HP] unit for a long period of time,” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin said.
The three T20Is are scheduled on March 27, 29 and 31 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Following that, both teams will fly to Dhaka to play on the one-off Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium from April 4.
Tanvir Islam and Rezaur Rahman who was part of the England series were not included in the Bangladesh squad for the Ireland series.
