Babar Azam-led Pakistan lost three wickets in the powerplay during the T20 World Cup 2024 match against the United States on June 06 in Dallas. After the dismissal of Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan, and Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam and Shadab Khan are eyeing a recovery in their first T20 World Cup match.
Kenjige, Saurabh, and Ali Khan all picked up a wicket to put pressure on Pakistan’s batting lineup. The co-hosts United States had a positive start by defeating Canada in the inaugural match of the tournament.
Pakistan Scored only 30 runs by the end of the powerplay. This is also one of Pakistan’s lowest totals during Powerplay in the T20 World Cups.

Coming to the match, the United States won the toss and opted to bowl. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam opened the innings and Rizwan was sent back to the dugout for 9 runs. With Usman and Fakhar Zaman’s departure for 3 and 11 runs, Pakistan lost three wickets in the fifth over.
Shadab Khan came to crease to rescue the team from early dismissals. By the end of the 10th over, Pakistan scored 66 runs with Babar Azam and Shadab Khan in the crease. Kenjige bagged his second and third wicket by dismissing Shadab Khan for 40 runs and Azam Khan for a golden duck.
Iftikhar Ahmed scored 18 runs before losing his wicket to Netravalkar and with Shaheen Afridi’s 23* runs Pakistan scored 159 runs by the end of 20 overs.
